Adventure Awaits!
Walden Adventure Club is an all weather, inclusive, outdoor program serving homeschool families in Jackson, Macon and Transylvania Counties.
Thursdays 1-4. Children ages 5-16 are members and their immediate families are encouraged to join. At least one parent stays for the duration.
Our Vision
To practice mindfulness and observation skills to cultivate a sense of magic and awe of all of creation while supporting and encouraging community amongst homeschool families. We achieve this vision by sharing in the wonder of life, environmental stewardship, learning the skills of reading the signs of nature, making predictions and deductions, reveling in magic of biology, and learning survival skills such as foraging, while the allowing our children the time and space to conquer challenges and interact in healthy and supportive ways.
Core Values
Our core values are to be an inclusive group of home scholars families dedicated to lifelong learning, community, connection and taking healthy risks, helping each other to see the beauty, magic and spirit in the natural world.
Gatherings
Walden Adventure Club is for homeschool families of children ages 5-16. One guardian must stay with the children from each family for the duration of the adventure meeting time, but all members of the immediate family are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Each gathering begins with an inclusive blessing, includes an activity such as hiking, SUP, laying, etc, survival skills, knot tying and reflection time. Locations will be posted weekly by Monday for Club members!

We begin our adventures with an inclusive blessing, and we always include a fun activity such as hiking, swimming or kayaking, a survival skill, knot tying and reflection time. There is plenty of free play time too!
